The first working day of the Congress.

On August 9, 2010 in Lviv has opened the IX International Congress of Redemptorist's Youth "Lviv 2010". It gathered 500 participants from Redemptorist's parishes of Ukraine, Slovakia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria, Poland, Belarus and Canada.

On Saturday, August 7, 2010, the volunteers visited the monastery of St. Gerard in Hnizdychiv (Kohavyno) (the Lviv province novitiate of CSSR), that is famous by the miraculous icon of Our Lady.

The competition of st. Alphonse

On the 1st August Catholic Church celebrates the memory of St. Alphonse Liguori, founder of the Redemptorist Congregation. This day is the biggest holiday for whole Rredemptorists’ family, which includes also contemplative and missionary-Redemptorist sisters and lay people who assist us in fulfilling the task initiated by our holy founder.

This year celebration in Lviv was distinctive by presence of representatives from different countries. They are our brothers and youth from Redemptorist parishes – volunteers of International Redemptorist Youth Congress Lviv-2010. A Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the church of St. Josaphat, which was headed by Father Provincial Vasyl Ivaniv, CSsR. After that sisters and youth presented a sketch about St. Alphonse for international guests at the Monastery of St. Alphonse’s.

The presentation was followed by friendly party, during which everyone could consider the case and just talk.

As the tradition every two years Lviv Province of CSsR provides Youth Festival on which are participating youth communities from our parishes. This year from July, 30 till August, 2 in Ternopil the Youth Festival was organized by eighth time.

On the 10 – 14 July 200, in the retreat house of the CSSR monastery (Holosko, Lviv), the Preparatory Meeting for the International Congress of the Redemptorist Youth, which will take place in August 2010 in Lviv, was held.
